Last Updated: February 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Technext (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use our mobile application App Lock (the “App”). The App helps you lock apps, protect media using a vault, and optionally capture intruder selfies after failed unlock attempts.
Terms of Use: Please also read our Terms of Use. This Privacy Policy is cross-linked with the Terms of Use for transparency and compliance.
1) Summary (Key Points)
- No account required: We do not ask for name, email, or phone number to use the App.
- Local-only vault: Vault files are stored locally in an app-private folder, renamed using “.nomedia”, and encrypted on-device.
- Uninstall warning: If you uninstall the App without restoring/unhiding files first, vault data may be lost.
- Intruder selfie: If you enable it, photos are captured on failed unlock attempts and stored locally, encrypted, and not uploaded to any server.
- Ads & analytics: We use Google AdMob and Firebase services. These may collect device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID) and app events.
- No cloud servers: We do not run our own backend for uploading your vault content, intruder photos, or lock settings.
2) Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
The App does not require registration. You may choose to store files in the vault and set a lock method (pattern/PIN) and recovery security question. This information is stored locally on your device.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically (Device & App Data)
The App and our third-party partners may collect limited information automatically for analytics, crash diagnostics, and advertising, such as:
- Device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID) used for advertising and measurement
- App interaction events (e.g., feature opens, button taps, screen views)
- Crash logs and diagnostic data (to improve stability)
- Approximate location may be inferred by ad networks from IP for ad delivery (depending on device/network)
2.3 Sensitive Content (Vault Files & Photos)
The App can process personal files (photos/videos/documents/notes/APKs) only to provide vault features. Your vault content and intruder selfie images are:
- stored locally on your device (app-private folder)
- renamed using .nomedia to reduce gallery visibility
- encrypted on-device
- not uploaded to our servers (we do not provide cloud backup)
3) Permissions We Use & Why
3.1 All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)
The App requests “All Files Access” to support vault features on Android. This permission enables the App to:
- detect and display files eligible for vault protection
- allow users to select files to lock/hide
- move/organize selected files into an app-private encrypted vault
Important disclosure: The App may scan device storage to identify files that can be protected. We do not sell your files, and we do not upload vault content to any server.
3.2 Usage Access
Usage Access is used to detect when a protected app is opened so the App can show the lock screen. Usage Access information is handled locally and is not transmitted to our servers.
3.3 Display Over Other Apps (Overlay)
Overlay permission is used only to display the lock screen over protected apps. We do not use overlay for ads or hidden tracking.
3.4 Camera (Intruder Selfie)
If you enable the Intruder Selfie feature, the App uses the camera to capture a photo after failed unlock attempts. Photos are stored locally, encrypted, and never uploaded to our servers. We do not perform facial recognition or face analysis.
3.5 Biometrics (Fingerprint)
If you enable fingerprint unlock, authentication is handled by the Android biometric system. We do not collect or store your fingerprint data.
4) How We Use Information
- Provide security and vault features (locking apps, hiding/encrypting selected files, intruder selfie)
- Maintain and improve performance (analytics and crash diagnostics)
- Show ads and measure ad performance (AdMob and related services)
- Prevent abuse and troubleshoot issues
5) Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your vault content or intruder photos with third parties.
We may share limited device/app data with third-party service providers used for analytics, crash reporting, and advertising, such as:
- Google AdMob (Advertising)
- Google Firebase Analytics (Analytics)
- Firebase Crash Reporting / Crashlytics (Diagnostics)
These providers may process device identifiers and app events under their own privacy policies.
6) Data Retention
- Vault files & intruder selfies: retained on your device until you delete or restore them.
- Local app settings: retained locally until you clear app data or uninstall.
- Analytics/diagnostics: retained by service providers for a period required to provide their services.
7) Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information processed by the App. Vault content and intruder selfie images are encrypted and stored locally in an app-private folder. However, no method of storage is 100% secure, and security also depends on your device settings.
8) Your Choices & Controls
- Disable Intruder Selfie any time from within the App.
- Revoke permissions in your device settings (may limit features).
- Delete vault content and intruder photos from within the App.
- Reset your Advertising ID and manage ad personalization from Android settings.
9) Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at mojiapps.official@gmail.com.
10) International Users
The App is available globally, including the European Union, the United States, and Korea. Third-party providers may process device/app data on servers located in different countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers (such as contractual protections used by providers).
